Acceptable Use Policy
Draft – to be reviewed by counsel before launch. Last updated October 26, 2026.
Storelight is private storage for your own files. To keep it safe for everyone, you may not use it to:
- store or share content that is illegal, including child sexual abuse material, which we report to the relevant authorities;
- infringe copyright or other rights of others, including distributing pirated content through share links;
- distribute malware or run phishing or fraud;
- use share links as a public content-delivery network or file-hosting service;
- attack, overload or probe our systems, or get around quotas and fair-use limits;
- resell the service without our written permission.
Fair use
Plans include generous transfer. Accounts that download many times more than they store over a sustained period may be slowed or contacted so the service stays fast and affordable for everyone.
Reporting abuse
Every share link has a report option. You can also email abuse@storelight.app. Because files are end-to-end encrypted we cannot inspect them, but we can and will disable share links and suspend accounts that break this policy, and we cooperate with valid legal requests.
